Hi, I’m Justin
And I am building things you’ve never seen before. Want to see?
AR/VR Projects
Check out a quick overview of all my projects and talks!
I’ve done some cool things. Including…
Working at Microsoft
I used to work as a Program Manager at Microsoft. For two years I was part of the Azure Commercial Experiences team, building experiences and features that impact everyone who spends money on the Microsoft cloud. If you ever paid for Azure, you have most likely interacted with pages I built and designed.
Published an AR iOS app: Familiars
First of its kind technology, I utilize the Apple Watch to display AR images. Using you iPhone, you can then see augmented reality animals projected onto the watch. I also made trading cards if you don’t have an apple watch! I’ve presented this material to various developer audiences.
Published an AR opinion Article
With the announcement of the Apple Vision Pro (apple’s long rumored augmented reality headset), I wrote a blog post about my opinions on their announcement. Working with a AR publication, the blog post was soon turned into a published article! A good read where I discuss my feelings on Apple’s vision of the future of AR/VR/XR.
Built Augmented Reality Pokémon Cards
By myself, I made custom Augmented Reality Pokémon cards, powered by ARKit, AR Foundation, and Unity. Right now features include multi image tracking support, touch interactions, 9 custom made AR cards, dynamic real-time shadows, 9 fully animated models, 26 sound effects, unique move sequences, and a fully functional battle mode. In the end, it was a fully functional iOS AR app.
Built Augmented Reality in the Great Outdoors
We built a 100% portable, augmented reality headset that tracks your real time GPS location and head orientation down to the centimeter. Without the need for special gloves or a game controller, the headset tracks your hands and allows the user to manipulate virtual objects projected onto the physical world. And, we liked it so much we built a second headset and designed a multiplayer experience…
Built IoT Bike Anti -Theft Water Bottle
We gathered an Arduino, a few extra hardware pieces, the software services of ThingSpeak, and threw it all together in a water bottle to create a prototype for a discrete anti-theft device that would counter the bike theft problem that plagues Austin, Texas. The best part? The water bottle will send out a tweet whenever it senses movement.
I’ve also built a few smaller games in the past…
Zombie Runner
Project Boost
Cave Hop
Laser Defender
Star Flight
Block Breaker
